Best CC for 8L monthly spend

4L Amex Platinum + 4L on Atlas
But what I see is that with Magnus if u spend 8L u will get 42200 points after converting vs Amx platinum= 12500 (transfer to vistara 6250 points) vs Altus 16000 points to vistara. I feel then magnus is still more valuable vs others right ?? Help me if my understanding is wrong

have you factored in Milestone Bonus for Platinum Travel?
for Atlas also you will get 2500 EM on 3L spending

I have a 8 L monthly other expense and want guidance on which card should I take ??
I hold magnus right now and don’t intend to shift to burgundy thought.
Use Magnus for entire spend
8 lakhs spend would give 9000 + 113750 ER
Which when converted to miles at 5:2 would give 98200 miles

4 lakh on plat travel would give 48000 MR or 48000 Marriot bonvoy or 24000 miles or 16000 vistara miles

Another 4 lakhs on atlas would give 16000 miles + 5000 miles ( 3 lakh milestone )
Even if we add both 16000 + 24000 + 5000= 45000 miles

Where as Magnus would give direct 98200 miles

For such high one time spends Magnus would still be better

But the ratio would drastically change if the spends are less than 1.5 lakhs per transaction

If there are no transaction above 1.5 lakhs its better to go with 4 lakhs on plat travel and 4 lakhs on Atlas

Why does one 1.5L transaction matter for Magnus? For getting the accelerated rewards isn't it a cumulative thing?

It’s not cummaltive
For a transaction above 1.5 lakhs
First 1.5 would be rewarded as base that is 12 ER per 200 and post that it would be 35 ER per 200.
This is as per my understanding , if there is any other info then can share as I am not tracking Magnus these days .
everyone is under impression that first 1.5L spends (cumulative) would fetch 12ER/200 and any spends above it will fetch 35ER/200 (same as 25k milestone benefit where cumulative spends of 1L+ was the requirement, not single transaction over 1L)

This is the first time I am seeing someone say that transaction amount above 1.5L will only fetch 35ER/200

There have been many discussions around it on twitter
Not bothering to go through it
But from this thread

What i understood is
Suppose you have a spend of 2 Lakhs
For the first 1.5 lakhs you will get ER at 12/200 that is 9000 points and the remaining 50k would be given at 35/200 that is 8750 so that ER that can be earned for spends of 2 lakhs in a month is 17,750 ER

You are right on the transaction part , whether it's a single transaction or multiple transaction, first 1.5 would be on 12/200 and then at 35/200 irrespective of the transaction amount in a month.

Edited the original comment . Thanks

If that is your regular monthly expense, you can just leave 2-3L additional to the 8L in your Burgundy account and get the Burgundy Magnus. The MAB will be maintained by default to pay your monthly bills. No other card comes close to the Burgundy Magnus for high spends.

Normal transactions above 1.5L fetches 35ER. It doesn't need to be 1.5L in a single transaction.

Total miles(>1.5L) = ((Total Amount in a month - (all the exclustions) - 150000 )/200 x 35 + 9000) x 0.8 (Burgundy Magnus)

Say, if you have 8L spends in say in Retail category , you will receive ((8,00,000 - 1,50,000)/200)x35 + 9000 = 1,22,750 ERs. = 98,200 miles per month

Can u explain me this more pls
If your spends are above 8 lakhs for most months , it's better to get the True Burgundy status and get yourself a Burgundy Magnus with 5:4 transfer rate
The kind of return burgundy magnus can give on monthly spends of 8 lakhs cannot be matched by any cards in India

But if its just for one month getting a burgundy account is not advisable and you could rather do the complete spend using your normal magnus that too would give better rewards than others.

And since you will be paying 8 lakhs bill every month , you can open a burgundy account with about 10 lakhs , and since you would pay 8 lakhs bill every month with extra 2-3 lakhs RS you can easily meet the AQB criteria of Burgundy..
