Domain purchase in SBI Cashback card

My friend purchased some website domain name of rs. 9500 with SBI cashback card, is this a excluded category? Because he has not received reward points.

I have heard there are some issues with GoDaddy transactions using SBI cashback regarding cashback issues. I use neither of them for my needs though.

You should get 5% in upto 5 days post txn.unless the mcc is 5947. 5947 mcc is excluded from cb

I prefer comparing the domain prices on different criteria like renewal time and cost on tld-list before buying.
Also, I prefer non-Indian presence sites, because those Indian sites charge 18% GST which ultimately increases the price.

Now even CloudFlare charges 18% + GST.

Just verify it by mailing SBI card... They'll tell the reason... whether it's MCC related or something else... I bought Prime membership with SBI card but no CB was given... When I asked they reverted that it comes in utilities category

Same revert for me, they have replied that it is considered in MCC 4816. So cashback is not eligible

I have googled it, and it is used for Computer network services, internet access, cyberlocker, file sharing and cloud storag

a layman doesn't keep track of the MCCs let alone most of the card holders don't even know what is MCC...
card companies should be user friendly... no one is going to fight them on this MCC logic similarly to "internal policy reasons" excuse everytime they give when they want to deny a service to user

Axis bank is very special in this matter..
This, their being special has led them to pay 47k penalty recently & 9-10k to multiple customers..
In sbicard, they've been rubbed so much so that it had become wound + challenging them on social media after being rubbed hard, forced them to take actions for all customers.. Thus, even genuine txns r being affected

Few days back I made a purchase on Amazon using my SBI card.. the item was under subscribe and save... I didn't received cashback for that too...
Upon asking SBI, they said it comes under utilities...

Bro stay away from GoDaddy, scumbags front run with domain names. Will suggest using porkbun, extremely user friendly and cheap!
