AU Credit Card Add-on condition

googley

TF Buzz
AU Bank has found a new way of trapping customer's money now. In case anyone has applied for a AU Zenith+ or any other credit card from the bank and want to get an add-on for any of your family members you would now need to create a savings account (customer ID) for that relation with AU Bank without which the add-on credit card would not be issued. The reason behind this silly logic is to validate the the add-on member is related to the primary card hold which does not make sense to me.

This is not mentioned anywhere in their card T&C.

It basically means that you have to lock-in the AMB amount of about 10K for each add-on member with AU Bank. Quite disappointing TBH.

I am not sure if such practices are even encouraged by RBI.

add-on holder should have account, if you apply through online - through branch nothing required.

at any point of time, primary holder don't need savings account to apply add-on cards. do check once on attached screenshot.

Btw, same rule applies: HDFC (if add-on has savings account, simple customer id is enough otherwise need to visit branch), ICICI (add-on doesn't have savings account need to visit branch). Same for YES, Federal.

HSBC, CITI, STANC must and should process manually for add-on application. HSBC can be possible entirely online but need to share docs to third party.

So, if branch visit is there then no savings account needed for any bank.

For your requirement (add-on can be applied online without any relationship), go for AMEX, IDFC, BOB.

Open a zero balance account for all add-on members and never use it. AU Digital Savings Account or BSDA Account both are good.
First one, gives some lounge benefits too.
Also, I recently got Zenith+, can add-on members share my lounge access limit?

have you tried for AU Bank ?

You do not need an account. You need to have a cr. My wife had AU LIT card. I created an addon for her for my Zenith Card using her crn.
How to know customer id in AU bank, i am in same situation but dont know the customer id. Only Last 2 digits showing in au101 app.

Today visited AU branch. They also require customer ID for add on. They also suggested to either open a zero balance account through online, or FD, or joint account to get cust id of add on member.

New thing is they told me that for addon card limit will be segregated. I have to allocate some specific limit for the addon card. Don't know if that is the case or not.
I might try to get another zero balance account particularly to get the rupay platinum dc.

Can you please tell me if add on can be applied online, if the family member who needs add on has au bank account?

Also, if the limit is segregated does this mean it will be reduced from primary holder?

In the branch 2-3 person discussed among themselves, CC guy was busy confirming the limit sharing with head office. I didn't wait much to confirm that again.

But, yes they told me the limit need to be shared and deducted from primary card holder.

For add on application (can be done online/through app) customer id of the add on member is required. Someone in other forum had mentioned that branch can process it without customer id that's why I visited the branch.

Yes. Also through their mobile app.
Understood, I've already got customer ID for add on member as they have a bank account.
But now the issue is the limit is only 2.5L , then how much should I share with add on?
And will it be shown in cibil?
