ICICI Emeralde Metal Credit Card for NRI - Discussion

As far as I know, 2cr NRV is required to get ICICI emerald metal LTF.
But I think you can still try chasing them if you have 50L TRV at least.

I don’t think so… I believe this is for Emerald Metal as it is mentioned by my RM
However, I don’t have hands on experience as I don’t maintain such high TRV with any bank 😅😅😅
The TRV requirement for Emerald Metal as LTF is 5Cr and 2Cr for Emerald Plastic but these cards aren't anyways worth maintaining this huge TRV.

The Infinia Metal is available for NRI's with a 10L FD. The only catch being the card is given against the FD. A lien is placed on the FD and your credit limit is 9L. I just did that.
Not sure if any other banks give premium credit cards to NRI's.

I am planning to open a FCNR FD of 50l. Will I get infinia metal ltf? Can u elaborate on which branch u approached for the infinia metal against FD?
They have stopped giving infinia against fd & to nri they give rg max. My ch couldn't give infinia to his own brother who easily satisfied all criteria.

I enquired with a credit card agent he told they are still giving secured infinia to NRI
He is lying. Both me & bom was pestering ch for dcb/infinia approval. At last I said I am ready to do fd as well. Then he showed me even he has dcb only. & he couldn't get his nri brother even dcb. He had to settle for rg.
They aren't even giving secured infinia against 10L fd foe resident. For secured infinia you need approval from bbh/gh. Here Circle head was withholding any application of less than 30L fd. And secured infinia is totally on hold after Oct.

For residents they strictly go by the income policy but for nri they were giving against FD as informed by the agent. I will ask my branch about this and try to get more info
Open 1 FCNR of 10L. They will mark a lien on this FD and give you an Infinia with a limit of 9L. The rest of the 40L you can make either a single FCNR or multiple. If you make a 50L FCNR the lien will be marked on the entire amount.
Against FD is the only way to get a card for NRI. The application form clearly states that there are 2 options. Regalia against 4L and Infinia against 10L. Credit limit is 90% of the FD. In both cases you can give a higher FD and get more credit limit. NRI's are not eligible for ANY OTHER cards.

Yes but they don't issue secured infinia easily. I know multiple nri who easily satisfy infinia criteria they couldn't get infinia with 1cr fd. Had to settle for rg and regalia before that.
And even the 10L for infinia is base criteria. Cc team doesnt give secured infinia without branch banking recommendations.
Many circle head don't give recommendations at 10L fd. One resourceful bm I know had got secured infinia for Chairman of a gramin bank. But she couldn't get it for me and some other customers. Circle head was asking for 70-80L fd. 😵💫 The minm he approved last Yr was for 30L that too for a resident with good contacts. Like I said, ch couldn't give his own nri brother.
And secured and approval based infinia/dcb is on hold since sept. I had talked to regional cc head in Jan (I think). Only exception is ias/ips.
They try not to give. They told me to do 7.5 L spends on Regalia in 6 months and they would consider. Then when I came to know someone else got with just an FD, I sent a mail to customer care and complained that I was not being issued the card. Why the difference between customers. Took 4 months and finally got it.

Can u share the details in DM of the agent or RM or BM who approved it? When was ur cc approved? In which branch or city?

Bro I talked with my branch RM. He consulted the area credit manager and confirmed that 99.99% chances are there that secured infinia credit card against 10l fd will be granted to NRI. You need to change ur branch or RM or inquire at other cities. Secured infinia is still being given as informed by him
Recently talked to cc regional head. He said same thing. I somewhat know a gh as well. ( gh is an alum who is friend of my old boss, another alum 🫣.)
In hdfc everything goes through an chain. Like I said it depends on higher ups of your bm. My circle head wasn't approving, may be yours did.
And 10l fd is a small criteria especially for nri. If you go to branch in posh area every other guy fd in crs.

Yeah that's the most amazing thing. It's just 10l fd. I was ready for 50l fd for infinia ltf but they are not ready for that. They are ready for chargeable card at 10l. But what was convincing was that he said the same amount of 10l FD which OP had mentioned. So I think they must have issued it in the past that's why they are confident
