Devaluation Infinia: Domestic lounge access on Infinia PP removed

Looks like priority pass issued with HDFC Infinia can’t get you access to domestic lounges or may be charged and now should be used only outside India. Priority pass could earlier be used within India which now has been removed.

I just spoke to the customer care and they have confirmed it.

What is not known yet -

1 When will this change effective from?
2. What if one uses PP domestically? Will charges be levied or access via PP would simply be declined?

This is an unexpected change. PP gets you access to certain lounges where cards aren’t accepted including arrival lounges. Moreover, there’s a faster priority lane for PP card holders at many lounges and this change won’t get card holders faster entry to lounges.

Initially they used to mention 'Within India and Outside', now they are mentioning only 'outside India'!
Seems for domestic use, they can charge!

So part A of this doc says card is accepted at domestic lounges only for primary holder right so add ons will not be acceptable henceforth, is it ?

The biggest problem with PP is that the lounges can't tell you if you will be charged or not like they can for credit cards. Everytime i use PP, the lounge tells me that they don't know if the visit is complimentary or chargeable

Exactly! That's why it's best to skip and stick to using the thread to avoid surprises later.

If you check the thread linked 3-4 post above, you will see that the OP got charged for using Infinia PP domestically.

That is wrong, and the OP got charged for a totally different reason in NOVEMBER! Confused mods have mixed up two completely unrelated posts and made it confusing for everyone else as well. @TechnoFino Please get them unmerged.

This is a very recent change. The other gentleman might have got charged for a different reason on using PP.

All are happening for same reason. Change in infinia pp policy. There is still no clarity when is the cut off date. May be hdfc will enforce it retroactively.

There were 4 threads on the same topic. This is 5th one. Topic is similar enough that they don't need 2 separate threads. And definitely not 5 threads.

Even the OP of infinia pp demostic devaluation thread had posted on the same thread initially and later created a new thread.

Let's keep the discussion limited to one thread.
