🚨 If you use ICICI IShop to redeem points for flight bookings, BEWARE! They can silently cancel your booking, refund only a partial amount after 20 days, and you won’t even know unless you manually check your transactions!

🔥 Here’s How ICICI IShop Screwed Me Over:​

  • Booked a flight from Coimbatore to Delhi using my ICICI credit card & reward points through IShop portal (BIGGEST MISTAKE EVER!).
  • Everything looked fine – got an Order ID, Vendor ID, and my card was charged.
  • But when I checked the PNR on Air India’s website after a few days, it suddenly showed "Payment Incomplete" 🤯—even though it initially said the booking was successful.
  • I was NEVER informed of any cancellation. No SMS, no email, NOTHING.
  • 20 DAYS LATER, without my knowledge, they silently refunded only ₹5,714 instead of ₹10,753. I only noticed because I randomly checked my statement. Where’s the rest of my money?!

🚨 Customer Support is COMPLETELY USELESS​

  • IShop Support: After waiting forever, they said "it’s not our problem" and told me to contact EaseMyTrip. 😡
  • EaseMyTrip Support: They CONFIRMED ICICI Rewards Team was the one who canceled it!
  • So basically, ICICI canceled my booking without telling me, held my money for 20 DAYS, refunded only a part of it, and now expects me to run around to fix THEIR mistake.

❌ Why You Should NEVER Trust ICICI IShop:​

1️⃣ They randomly cancel bookings WITHOUT informing you.
2️⃣ They refund your money AFTER WEEKS—partially!
3️⃣ Your reward points might NOT be refunded properly.
4️⃣ Customer support is CLUELESS and will keep pushing you to another department.
5️⃣ If I hadn’t checked my statement, I’d NEVER have known they scammed me.

🔥 What I’m Doing Now:​

  • Filing a chargeback dispute with my bank.
  • Raising an official complaint with the Banking Ombudsman (RBI).
  • Reporting this fraud to the National Consumer Helpline (NCH).
  • Taking this to Twitter, LinkedIn, and news portals—ICICI cannot keep doing this!
TL;DR: ICICI IShop is a broken system. They take your money, cancel your bookings without notice, refund a partial amount after weeks, and make you fight for your own money. CHECK YOUR TRANSACTIONS—YOU MIGHT BE AFFECTED TOO!

1️⃣ Failed Booking, Points Deducted:

  • I tried to book another different flight using my reward points, but the transaction failed. Despite the failure, my points were deducted.
  • I was told the points would be refunded within 30 minutes, but it’s been days and I still haven’t received them.
2️⃣ Refund Delays and Confusing Responses:

  • I received a refund for the payment after several days, but the points are still missing.
  • Customer support gave me conflicting timelines—first 30 minutes, then 24 hours, then 2-3 days. It’s been way longer than that, and I’m still waiting for the debited points.
3️⃣ Terrible Customer Support:

  • Every time I contacted support, I got generic responses like “please wait” or “we’re looking into it.”
  • No one could give me a clear answer or escalate the issue properly.
4️⃣ System Issues:

  • The lack of transparency and accountability is shocking.
Why You Should Be Worried:

  • ICICI IShop can deduct your points but will take ages to resolve a small complaint
  • Refunds (both money and points) take forever, and you’ll have to keep following up. Still points are not credited back - Its almost a week.
  • Customer support is unhelpful and will give you the runaround instead of solving the issue.

No its not the 12.5 k reward points . Anyways i have shared the Statement to one of the user here. I dont want to share to everybody even if my personal information is hidden.

These are initial hic-ups which may last for next 6-12 months. And some people would take the pain of this.
Till the time iShop is out of Beta, and details are published on their website, their staff would continue to give conflicting statements.
Surely you would be able get full refund out of it. But ICICI should also pay for wasting your time and the pain it has caused.
 
Yes, fight through all means. They cannot just launch a half baked product and harass people like this.
All your methods are very powerful. Write strong mails to RBI, PNO, consumer grievance, and all other means.
They never announced ishop, it is still in Beta. It’s our fault we still are using it (including myself) when bank is saying that they haven’t gone live yet.

Then atleast they should have mentioned it as BETA somewhere or blocked public access. Their dev team should have done testing only on stage. Who pushed it to prod? Why? We need to ask these questions.

Legally speaking they have all the rights to push their stuff to production but unless they specify the same in their MITC or on portal, it’s not live and official. Not taking bank’s side because I’m also an ICICI card holder and ishop user but we need to ask ourselves how did we get the ishop URL? X or this forum as someone figured it out.

I tried looking at the card features, MITC and various sections but accelerated rewards on ishop is specified nowhere. Moreover, when you log into the netbanking site, ishop is not even listed on their login page dropdown.
My point is - unless it’s officially launched, let’s go slow on it. A lot will change.
