UPI release a circular for UPI Tap & Pay (UPI based NFC/contactless payment) -

How many of you use UPI Tap & Pay from BHIM Android and Iphone App ?

UPI Member are requested to take note and Go-live on mentioned functionality by 31st January' 2024.

I am not Tap and Pay in any form.. yet

So, this will be similar to a debit card based tap & pay where we enter UPI PIN ( if amount > 500) inplace of debit card pin, is it ?

Kal ek bhai sahab bahut tap and pay kar rhe the naya thread bana kar. Unko tag kar do idhar aur bolo tapatap tap and pay kare

@quino POS machine with NFC support will also accept in future. Ofcourse it will take few years time. RBI/NPCI will also increase the UPI Tap & Pay limit in future.

@Abhishek012 just a sec. almost all pos machines now a days have the debit card tap feature. does that mean they have the hardware for upi nfc? just that the software needs updation?

@quino Only POS software needs to updation because UPI apps just capture the UPI ID through NFC.

Like UPI is progressing in technology, The day is not so far when it will rival VISA and Mastercard

How would one know the QR code is NFC based? I don’t want to seem like a fool trying to tap the QR when everyone around is scanning 😅
QR has the NFC icon?
