So that's the reason for closing Rupay Lounge in Delhi T3. They are cutting down access and won’t be able to stay profitable if they remain exclusive to RuPay cardholders. I might be wrong but this is my opinion.

@Abhishek012 HDFC has restricted access for Visa and MC variants, Rupay was giving them at discounted prices that's why they kept the default list or the number of customers using Rupay DC is less compared to Visa/MC.
I'm not against RuPay, but many RuPay cardholders are frustrated with the recent changes, especially those with Select variant cards, which now offer just one lounge access per quarter. Select is the highest tier among RuPay cards, making this downgrade even more disappointing.

@Anindya98 I know some HDFC customers who have around 20 to 25 HDFC RuPay Platinum debit cards.

You must have seen over the past year how many people on TechnoFino have been applying for RuPay Select debit cards and using lounge access not just domestically but internationally as well.

Then, they are finding loopholes in banks to get zero balance accounts, first-year-free (FYF), or lifetime-free (LTF) options.

So, I don’t think those who exploited these benefits are frustrated or disappointed because they have taken full advantage.

Banks should issue RuPay Select debit cards only for HNI (High Net-worth Individual) accounts.

Secondly, they should introduce spend-based offers on these cards; otherwise, people will keep exploiting them.
