In the new PAN 2.0 project the government has announced that no bank or NBFC would be allowed to authenticate your PAN card and do any hard cibil enquiry without OTP based authentication using your PAN details just like aadhaar.

Nope, I stopped bothering as automatic payments are not getting deducted from my account. You can try raising a complaint on Twitter or SBI website regarding this.
I visited my branch and they were absolutely clueless about NACH mandate cancellation. So, I think my NACH mandate is not yet cancelled at SBI's end and it has only been cancelled by my mutual fund AMC. No automatic deductions are taking place though.
