I wanted to share an ongoing issue that might resonate with others facing similar challenges.
A loan account that was closed approximately 6 years, 9 months, and 17 days ago is still being reported as active on my CIBIL credit report by a local bank. This outdated and incorrect reporting has been affecting my credit profile and limiting my access to new credit facilities.
š§ I had initially raised this concern via email to the bank on August 7, 2024, at 11:32 PM. Unfortunately, the response was far from helpful. I was asked to visit the home branch and submit the CIBIL report, which is around 18ā20 km away from my current location. Even after visiting the nearest Varachha branch, they simply redirected me back to the home branch without providing any resolution.
š Since the issue remained unresolved, Iāve now filed a formal complaint with the RBI Ombudsman (RBIO) using their standard form. Iāve also emailed the bankās nodal officer regarding the matter and have requested compensation for the inconvenience and prolonged impact on my credit standing.
