Diners cards are actually RuPay co-branded cards in India.

They are RuPay’s Corporate Classic Credit Cards.

The RuPay Scan & Pay offer isn’t available on all RuPay Business card BINs.

You can see here that RuPay has also listed all HDFC Diners Club BINs, since those are all RuPay cards (visit FAQ section and click on "1.2. Eligibility" option) - https://www.rupay.co.in/rupay-scan-and-score

Most banks offer lounge access through their own lounge partners on credit cards. The card network has nothing to do with it.

RuPay is our country’s network — there should be a sense of patriotism towards it.
So, you mean to tell me I can access rupay lounge at Delhi Airport with Tata Neu Infinity Visa as well instead of just TNI Rupay? Kudos. Also, with the same logic You mean I can use Rupay on International Merchants both online and abroad instead of Visa? Man, I have a lot to learn. Also, explain in detail what has patriotism has to do with this? Kindly, refrain from such words.

Has RBI Mandated ki every card should offer a rupay variant or something?
Imagine... Amex Plat Travel Rupay variant....

I think you can use Rupay in international merchants since they partner with networks like Diners / JCB, etc...

What do you mean?
I tried using it with multiple international merchants online at some it said card type not acceptable and at some it went till otp page and then failed because of being Rupay type card. When travelling abroad, it never worked for me in the States.

I was talking about the other lounges. RuPay has its own only one lounge — in Delhi.

For international transactions, you can use the RuPay card on Discover/Diners and JCB network–accepted websites, POS terminals, and ATMs. Some people on Technofino here actually use it.

RuPay often runs 40% or 25% cashback offers on international transactions from time to time for International POS transaction.

Many users here on Technofino use RuPay International cards and get benefit from those offers.

With the SBI RuPay JCB Platinum Debit Card, you get zero forex markup, the best conversion rates, and no international ATM withdrawal charges — several users here take advantage of that too, even for international e-com transactions.

And I know that currently, not every international website or POS machine accepts RuPay International cards. This is because the Discover/Diners network is still quite limited and JCB Card too in few countries and RuPay hasn’t enabled International recurring payments yet.

RuPay itself is also forming partnerships with international payment gateways and foreign companies so that it can directly expand RuPay Global network internationally.

But remember, 90% of people in India do only domestic transactions. There’s usually no need for international ones.

If you’re a salaried person, you might not understand this — but if you’re a businessman, you definitely will.

India’s population is so huge that companies compete fiercely just to capture a only 5% market share — and India is a growing market.

Here, RuPay could potentially capture around 90% of the market.

In debit cards, RuPay already holds around 60% of the market and some indirect reports suggest it even reached 80%.

RuPay credit cards haven’t expanded fully yet, but according to the latest data, RuPay credit card issuance and transaction volume have now reached the level of Mastercard credit cards.

And it’s not too far behind Visa either. Now that RuPay is launching premium cards, If even 30% of premium card users switch to RuPay, then it may surpass Visa credit cards in market share within the next few years.

And that’s better for customers too — if Visa and Mastercard’s market share decreases, they’ll start giving better offers so that people continue choosing their cards. But for this, it is necessary for Visa and Mastercard’s share to decrease.

There was a very good video and case study of Rupay, explained in monkey terms.... I will share it in some time... Not able to find it..

Where is Rupay logo in this photo?
Why did Rupay agree to have this kind of pathetic branding with their logo not even seen on the front side?
What if this card has VISA logo on the backside?
Are all these people so foolish not to even show Rupay logo at the backside?
This looks more like the advt of Axis bank and nothing related to Rupay.

If they show front side - Rupay logo is not there.
If they show backside - People don't even know which card is it.
Overall pathetic design.
