Yesterday, I had some failed payment at BMTC with my RuPay credit card - have they stopped accepting them now?

Yes, they do accept UPI on non ac buses, but the probability is very low and depends a lot on the conductor

But it's a hassle for both conductor and commuter. Precious 20-30 seconds wasted when the conductor could've issued tickets for 3 more people.
Until tap and pay arrives, I'll carry loose change 😆
Makes sense for Volvo though, especially airport Volvo - ₹250+.

Last I heard they were still finding a partner bank for contactless payments facilitation. (Which can make use of the current metro NCMC card)

This would be great. They should also allow interchange between different modes and introduce a time limit, in which if the traveler transfers from one mode to another, the charges shall be minimal.

I tried penny drop for 3-4 old BMTC UPI Ids from history, and payment declined in all case. I tried with ICICI CORAL RUPAY.
I think BMTC decided not to bear mdr

Do such penny transactions also atteact MDR charges?

yes, it's above 2K only. Still the government itself doesn't want to use Rupay cc on upi. @Abhishek012

Bhai big corporate companies and govt companies k tender nikalte hai phir koi new payment gateway add hota hai.

Philhal jo UPI network me CC UPI payment ho raha hai NPCI usko dhire dhrie block kar de raha hai.

Jaise ki ek interesting baat bolu aaj bhi bahut se northern railway and western railway station me RuPay debit card accept nahi hota hai.

Par RuPay debit card 100% all POS machine me India me accept hota hai.

Phir problem kya hai ?

woh sab northern railway and western railway station k POS machine old hai ya software upgradation ki jarurt hai taki RuPay debit card accept kar paye.

Aur govt/railway ko woh minor changes k liye bhi tender nikalna parega.

Banks toh old POS machine ko New POS machine se free me replace bhi kar dete hai but Railway ko woh sab karne k liye bhi tender jari karna hoga, bahut se paper works karne honge.

10 years se railway kar raha hai yeh sab kam background me. Umeed hai kuch saal me ho jana chahiye kam pura.

Jaise ki ekbar maine bataya tha, Jio and Jiomart RuPay CC UPI payment disabled kar diya tha. Log hungama karne lage ki big corporate companies khud he accept nahi kar raha hai.

Jab ki NPCI ne UPI network me CC UPI payment block kar diya tha.

Ustime bhi maine bataya tha aisa nahi hota ki Mukhesh Ambani baitha hua hai RuPay CC UPI payment enable karne k liye.

Yeh sab k liye tender nikalte hai phir 3rd party companies kam karta hai.

Update: In the same route, now CC is working for BMTC payments from last 2 days.
