Any advantage of having a Diners Club card over VISA / Mastercard / Rupay?

My HDFC Millennia VISA CC is due for renewal. I got a mail from HDFC Bank giving an option to change the CC network (VISA/Mastercard/Diners Club/Rupay), if required.

I already have other CCs on all the above networks except Diners Club.

Just wanted to know whether opting to have my Millennia CC under Diners Club will give any advantage / feature not available with other networks.

Thanks in advance.

Yes, it encourages less spending since the acceptance rates is minimum 😛. On a serious note, it depends on the card variant that you have. For e.g. Infinia Visa/Mastercard > HDFC Diners Black. Generally speaking, Diners have better customer care, better lounge access offers. In Customer care Amex is undisputed king, followed far-off by Diners>MC issuing banks>Visa issuing banks.

I am having DCBM. I live in Hyderabad and yet to find any acceptability issue in offline stores. Some online gateways don’t accept it. I am yet to try it outside India. But a forex card is a better choice than using the card directly.

Millennia cc available on rupay network?
Interesting..
Millennia RuPay toh last time ek bande ko mil bhi tha bas physical card diya nahi kyunki ustime under development me tha.

I think there is a higher chance that SBI SimplyCLICK will also be available in RuPay because SBI has started showing RuPay in the PDF file and RuPay JCB BIN in the dummy card number of SimplyCLICK.

They just haven’t issued it yet—maybe they will provide the RuPay option upon card renewal.

But this time, we will have a screenshot because HDFC allows choosing the card network during renewal. If it's RuPay Millennia, then the option to choose RuPay Millennia must have appeared like this -

You can get access to premium lounge at Kolkata airport only on Diners (and Amex) network. Even premium cards on Visa/ MC network can't get access. 😁

Wow.. What is the lounge name?
Travel Club or TFS. It has two lounges at Kolkata airport. One is less premium and is open to all Visa/ MC holders. The premium lounge which is also used by the flight crew is open only for Diners or Amex network.
In India, Diners club use RuPay's airport lounge access.
