Not able to get Credit Card from ICICI and SBI

Getting the first ICICI card is tough, but after that, getting more is easy. I got in through my Amazon relationship—been using Amazon since 2014-15. Around 2020, I kept getting the apply option for Apay, but my applications were rejected. Then, when Amazon launched BNPL, I was one of the beta customers and got a 20K limit. I used it frequently, and by 2023, I received a pre-approved Apay offer. Using Prime since 2016.

This time, secured One card was reported 6-7 months in CIBIL—no income docs or verification needed. Within 5-6 days, I had the physical card in hand with a 1.5L limit. In the same month, I got FK Axis (15K) and Tata Neu Plus (45K). Within 6 months, ICICI increased my limit to 4.2L.

I opened my ICICI account in March 2024. Getting the first card is the hardest part—even people with great cards get rejected. I’d recommend going for the Apay card first.
In my case its whole reverse having icici account still not even issuing coral one very basic card😅

Same with me in icici my in my case there is one account in ICICI opened since 2022 still there are no preapproved credit card offers in it and not even they are giving credit card after applying also.

Like from that account we have tried since so many time application like in this month inly done 2-3 times application still the same story and everytime it gets rejected..and shows thanks for your application and just get the regret message each time..

This happens to many people, so you're not alone in this. ICICI Bank rarely offers a pre-approved first credit card based solely on an account relationship. You’ll need to explore other ways to get the card.

The easiest method is to sign up for Amazon Pay Later and become an Amazon Prime member for some time. This significantly increases the chances of getting the Amazon Pay ICICI Bank Credit Card option in the app.

Alternatively, try applying offline through an agent—many people find it easier to get approved this way.

Here's a pro tip for applying online:
Whenever you apply for an ICICI Bank credit card, always select "Salaried" as your employment type, even if you're self-employed or a business owner. There’s a known glitch in ICICI Bank’s system where selecting anything else often results in automatic rejection. I have personally tested this and found it to be true.

Give it a try—if your card was getting rejected for this reason, it should get approved this time. Feel free to DM me if you need any more help!
