Amex Gold Charge Retention Offer March 2025 - Discussion

Hi

My gold charge card completed one year and been charged 4500 + tax charges as annual charges
Usage - only 6kx1 in last one year
Points around 65k

I call cc and ask for retention offer

Option Given
1) Pay Half Charges and other charges waived
2) Spend 1 Lac in next 90 days
3) Close the Card (need suggestion to use points)
4) Apply for new card (option ruled out due to no new applications)

Pls suggest

Yes you would get the email once they promise you. If you want to complete it use mobikwik wallet

yes call and get that P2S mail, that is a written proof of confirmation of agreed terms for renewal offer

Iyes you can call them and I form them or chat with them on amex app. Meanwhile you can start off your milestone spend, so that you don't lose your time.

The team for retention is different and exclusively only available on call, the chat people don't have any authority to check or provide retention offers

Just write them a mail and they'll call you back themselves....
They're providing multiple retention offers and you'll get a service reference number too

I got 5k bonus points on my gold card (1st renewal). The 100% fee is waived off due to spend based offer.

Fee waived off on 2 or 3rd week of Jan.

Bonus points credited on 2nd April

Applying century coupon code @15k wallet load yields 50 cashback.

Plus Milestone Bonus @1,000 MR points shall= 330/-

Total 3127-680-300-330=1,817/-

I am right now in between of my spends offers. If this is the timeline then shall get to know about it in the month of June.

I would rather buy Amazon GV from Reward Multiplier and use it for insurance payment at a later date.
I will also get 1500 Amazon GV for the spend offer. I have to complete 50K by 5th April for that.

Called Amex..
They only gave only one offer "spend 1L in 90 days".. So closed the card.. As only usage on the card was 6k on Multiplier monthly.. And now with the charges and small denomination of apay.. It wasn't worth the time with full fees..

If needed will apply again after few months..

Would we get 5000 reward points on first year renewal even after getting retention offer from AMEX??
