Yes as usualNobody else here
Yes very limited cards work here.Federal bank card swipe and IDFC wealth debit card swipe showed card invalid. Dream folks QR which I had generated before travel yesterday worked !!!
All crowds are at Plaza premiumNobody else here
Understood the reason why Federal celesta CC and IDFC wealth DC was declined. I had set international online and pos limit to just ₹1000. But since both these use Loungekey, I should have kept the limit over ₹3500 (over 35$)Federal bank card swipe and IDFC wealth debit card swipe showed card invalid. Thank you. I am planning malaysia trip around October. I was looking for this information. SBI JCB Rupay platinum was helpful during my Thailand trip too.One thing I forgot to mention -
SBI Rupay Platinum JCB debit card and Indusind Pioneer DC were not having any extra charges on withdrawing money at Maybank ATM. No forex, no bank charges, nothing. Withdrew small amounts like 20/30/40 MYR.
It's better to carry small amount like 200 MYR as cash since card is not accepted everywhere. Cash if required can be withdrawn from Maybank ATM at almost the same rate as shown in Google search
IDFC WOW card worked well at all places where card swipe was required. Tap was kept off. So couldn't try it in the 1 MYR local buses. No forex or any other charges incurred.
In the case of the family, you can use your card. No need to have separate cards. The only condition you must be present with them.Nice thread @SonyTom and @telescope useful info. When using lounges in India for both my children, I just give 4 or 5 cards to the agent and let them swipe whatever works. Wondering if this works in KL/SIN as all these cards are in my name
Good to know this. Does this work in Singapore, Australia, Dubai etc?In the case of the family, you can use your card. No need to have separate cards. The only condition you must be present with them.
Same for HSBC amanah ATM and CIMB ATM also. One thing I forgot to mention -

I know right!!Kuala Lumpur immigration asks nothing. I was only asked the purpose of visit. I said "tourist". Just one word. After that they'll ask you to show MDAC email. That's all.
You'll face more questions at Indian checkin counter and immigration, than at MY and SG.
Train booking is fine. No need to book dummy flight tickets.
My last trip was Malaysia - Singapore - Philippines - Singapore - Thailand - India. I showed return flight ticket from Thailand to India at checkin counter. I was asked how'll I go to Thailand, I said by train. I wasn't asked anything at immigration.
Sadly, Indian checkin counter agents thinks themselves as someone superior to even immigration officers.
Everytime I fly internationally out of India, I mostly encounter similar situation at checkin counters. Very frustrating.I know right!!
One checkin counter rejected me because I wasn’t carrying physical copy of hotel bookings. The counter just beside that egotistic prick were all fine seeing the digital copy of the booking. However when we moved to other nearby counters they rejected us saying we need to go to the original counter only! What a bunch of self important, arrogant, out of place jerks.
Finally after 10 minutes of cooldown, we went to the farthest from that prick, realising stealth is the best option and it went seamlessly. Makes my blood boil every time I think of this incident. No-one in this country gets even basic decency from these govt servants unless you are connected.
Yes, whenever you travel with family, everyone doesn't need to have individual cards. Blood relatives can use each other's cards when travelling together. Some lounges will have exceptions, or if it is too crowded, will give access to cardholders only.Good to know this. Does this work in Singapore, Australia, Dubai etc?
