Wait 3-5 working days, this is standard timeline for every failed transaction. Store customer care obviously can't see failed transaction since it never reached them.

If you call customer care of Axis, they will reply with the same generic answer as written above. So, just wait for 3-5 working days. It will be reversed.

Chargeback is done, when the payment is successfully confirmed and the merchant is denying the payment. Since, this isn't the case here. Chargeback is of no use in your case.

Another issue I have is - the bill generation date is on 12th. So most probably the refund will come after the bill is generated. I am not sure if I will have to pay the amount, or Axis will treat it towards the outstanding.
(I am OK even if I have to pay the amount, as of now, I am only concerned with refund should come correctly)

As far as I remember, axis does consider refund as a payment. Once the bill is generated, you will see 'bill paid' automatically in the app after the refund is processed.

You will have ample time to receive the refund after the bill is generated (18-22 days interest free period)

I made a transaction on cibil website on 15Aug. 1st was unsuccessful so i made payment again which was successful. I have not received refund till now. Mailed cibil but no response. Should file chargeback i think.
