Have seen many people trade in profile post without RML. Are they punished or banned? (just curious)

sure if you've had fun conversations before and established that relationship then maybe yes but else it's not good but they said sorry which is the right thing to do so that's good
else I would also not like that - members make a community and making fun of one like that is not appreciated

2. By default mods have RML , but RML badge not shown . Often people mistake it for any body can post.
Solution could be, for #1 occasionally Mandal Babu can post about RML on profile posts like the reruns of "kyonki sauce be kabhi tamatar 🍅 thi " to bring awareness. For #2 mods too must be given the badges.
BTW, anyone can DM the RML seller whether one is RML or noRMal and can trade , that isn't an issue.
