Same headache with all these fintech startups. This is the reason I force closed my slice account even though I was paying all the bills. I confronted my friend who referred me to Slice (Slice employee) and he revealed everything when I asked him.
Yes small fintechs always look good for temporary usage i mean load their wallet and meet our milestone and pass on
Still we have risk of funds lockin if any bug
Thought to take a onecard but now changed my decision and started worrying if AmEx do the same haha
This is nothing new. I see all over my twitter from so called CC geeks who knows nothing about the dark side of the fintech industry. Our data has been shared to collection agencies by any fintech companies and companies like Airtel as well. If you don’t pay the they have all the data with connections and ask your connections for recovery. I mean even IDFC share our data for verification, I have also raised this issue but this seems like a minor thing to us as long as we are getting benefits. Sure if it was Infinia then no one would have raised a finger. Hope PII protection policy gets live soon in India.
Similar incident happened with someone here on TF with Cred Cash thing. OP’s friend took loan from Cred cash but didn’t pay it on time. The OP had only shared the contact info to cred, nothing else. Guess what, the recovery agent called him to ask him about his friend. See no one raised any finger.
Indeed It is a high time, we should fight for our data protection not for an individual’s concern. We only look at small gains like uninstall the all and all. Instead we should look at the sustainable solutions looking at the bigger picture. In my previous company, a collection agent called the employee’s manager for recovery 🤣 . This is something unheard of.
