It should be visible in sbi card app

If it was your 1st SBI Card, then you need to wait till card delivery.

Ah! Yes. If it's first SBI Card, you need to wait till you receive the card.

if your card is approved you will receive a text stating 'dear cardholder, welcome to sbi card family' in the same text, link is present, after entering password and OTP you can view it.
Note : I received a text message with link today morning itself for my simplyclick card.

yeah once you receive message you can view it, you can login with card details in sbi cards and you can activate and use it as normal before delivery itself

Even for my first SBI CC which is CB, I could see virtual card instantly after it was approved by following their mail instructions. Once you get physical card, virtual card won't show up.
PS : It was 2 years ago and on sprint web page.

If it is a system approved application, you get to see the card details instantly post approval. If it went to manual approval, you have to wait till the card is delivered to you. Or wait for the link in the SMS to view it.
