Sbi always split limit from existing cc. That happened to me as well.

Earlier when application was processing I had meagre 20000 limit on SBI CB back in 2023, later on transferred some limit from my Prime later. Now on a total they are saying there is no limit assigned to him so he has to split the limit.

Not sure if its the process for CB card.
I had CB card with 20k limit and applied for Vistara Prime. They gave 1.1L limit for that ( I didn't activate it because they entered wrong email).
Maybe for lower variants they split limit from earlier card.

I think its better to take the card first even if he has to split some limit for that. CB card worth it.
Both provision works in SBI. Last year when I applied for my 2nd SBI CC the limit was different. I have also seen some card offers in sbi card app with limit sharing.

Take the card, even with 25k limit! he can redistribute limit later
