AU - Yes, most likely or mail from office ID. WFH may even cause issues if you are not existing AU account holder. You can search many failures in the forum with WFH scenario.

For me, 1.5 years back, AU didn't verify office physically, but I was asked to send an email from my office email id. My registered email id was different. Back then, I didn't had account with them.

I am also working from home.

HSBC didn't do any physical verification. Card approved after video KYC.

AU initially declined my application, then I asked them to reconsider my application. They asked me to send a confirmation email from my official email ID, and my card was approved in a week.

AU will most likely do office verification even if you hold a savings account with them.
Yes, they give pre-approved offers. But unpredictable I always get bad card offers under the pre-approved section.
Apply directly you will get the card.

Both banks did physical verification of my workplace in my case. Both rejected. But after writing an email to PNO, AU Bank got approved. HSBC, I am not yet sure about it. A certain someone on this forum said he would help me with my application, so I am just waiting on him.

Leave is okay they will visit your office and ask around about you, also depends on the guy, he might not come and just ask you the details via call/Whats app.
In my case, they rejected the AU Lit in 2023 even after giving it to me under a pre-approved offer.
Last time also got rejected after physical verification for AU Xcite Ace. When I asked the reason they said as I WFH they rejected it. After that, I stopped applying for AU cards, and now they are offering some lower variant paid cards. I got an AU Ixigo LTF Add-on card from my dad last year. In his case also did home & office verification which is okay as he was NTB to the bank at that time.
