No need to worry.... The branch has endorsed the cheque on its own name as they will be collecting in their own collection/suspense account (and credit to your account once it is opened effective from the date of collection).
This change of name in favour of the bank is normal for cheques issued for account opening and other purposes, where direct credit to your account doesnt happen.
Regarrding RK Salai - so it could be the case the cheque presenting branch is RKSalai branch in Chennai as per IDFC's CTS system....or the pooling/collection account is maintained centrally at RKSalai branch.
Theek narration drawer bank (HDFC) ke liye:
3 chiz toh main hai 3 o missing hai, i.e, Payee/ Beneficiary name, mode (along with cheque number), payee's bank name
Are you talking about the statement of IDFC, right? If such narration is only showing in IDFC, then it's Ok, IG.
@Aniket : Also, on the other point - Yes, those 3 things should be captured correctly, but it depends on the person feeding the data in the CTS system....many a times they dont mention these things, and just write something like "CHQ TRF" or whatever..... but the ideal process is to capture those details correctly, so that customer can validate these things on his own while looking at the bank statement.
And I think OP is talking about the narration on the debit account (HDFC), hence is concerned that money is going to someone else instead of himself.
Can you confirm you opened in RK SALAI BRANCH or not?
