Depends on MCC code of the store. If it comes under Grocery then you get 10% on full amount. Eg. from DMart you can purchase clothes, plastic items and still it will give you 10% Luckily as of now, banks don't check invoice and segregate the spends :)

You are right.. 20% is quite low. But equal to or exceeding income is also super stretched. It can happen due to some important life events etc but not a regular one. By the way, I read OP's post, seems like a case of expense super high vs ITR and hence had given this view.

Difficult to say... How much is your income? If the spends are like 15-20% of income you can easily justify. Else will be a challenge if notice comes.

There is a fair use (?) limit of 1 lakhs per months. Beyond that you risk getting your account frozen.

Today I saw that have been charged Rs 750+ 18% GST as annual fees for my PNB Select Credit Card. Surprised as have been using it regularly. Have dropped mail to them asking for reversal considering have been using it monthly. 🤞
