What is the reason you are paying fee for stanc ultimate, rbl insignia, indusind indulge & emerald.
Infinia, Atlas & Marquee are justified but why pay so high fee for above 4 cards?
Indulge 10L no fee.
Emerelad 12 L no fee,
Infinia 10L no fee.
Atlas fiting for edge portal. ( this yr fee waved by Nodal officer).
RBL Insignia 500 flat off 2 time in month on BMS.
Ultimate they havent charge mee this yr dont know why i i dident ask..

I only paid fee in both Vistara & sbi TATA card. and compenseted with vouchers

Spends more in grocery shopping and food delivery both online + offline 10k+
Insurance
12k pm and 20k one a year
Fuel
10k avg ....even more sometimes
Upi around 5k
Online Shopping - moderate

Also I feel I have many paid and want to make ltf
Let me know if any tricks to make ltf

Salaried around 80k pm hdfc

TBH, You just need 2 or 3 cards from rewards perspective and get best returns. Remaining redundant and no useful.

Lets say, 80k pm net home that means 10L annually, that is sufficient for 3 super-premium cards or 5 combination cards.

I hope whatever you mentioned are for monthly purchases:

Grocery/Food = 10k
Insurance = 12k + (additional 20k = 1.6L annually)
Fuel = 15k
UPI = 5k
Online shopping = 6k (on average if we consider occasional purchases during discounts)

Per month: 50k. i.e, 62% of your monthly income which might be very difficult with other fixed expenses and might be problematic when availing loans.

Anyway,

IDFC Power+: 5% Fuel, Grocery (Offline), Utility, FastTag
Millennia: 5% Food Delivery, Grocery (Online), Online shopping
TataNue Plus/APAY: If Insurance available in those platforms. 2%

Trust me

- the less cards you contribute your spends, the more you'll get rewards.
- the more cards you use for your spends, the less rewards you'll get for your spends.

Net Return for 50k monthly spends with above 3 cards:

= 3.76% (this is the best return and only possible if you spend on limited cards) including annual fee.

- more cards you use for your spends, the less reward points you'll get in your account which not suitable for any proper redemption. So, consider using and stick with few cards. Moreover, consistent usage improve relationship with bank which also improve your chances of LE, Upgrades etc.

---------------------------
Close, not at all required (again, if you want to use these cards - close above ones but don't use both because net return <1% with annual fee.

1. Au LiT
2. Axis neo ltf
3. Axis airtel paid
4. Bob hpcl
7. Hdfc swiggy paid
12. One card sib
----------------------------

Just because LTF, you do not need to keep it. Because if you use occasional spends there, then spends reduced on actual cards + reward rate reduced due to limited spends/rewards.

Ex: Used SBI card for 10% discount on Amzn for 20000 product (you'll get 1500 discount usually, i.e, 7.5%) anycase, that reduces 20k on swiggy 5% above.

Did you know? Using Millennia card alone for your total 50k monthly spends gives you 3.5%. Figure out the math 🙂 (you don't even need any other card in this case).

Note: Above analysis for 50k monthly spends on above categories. It varies if categories changes or spends increased.

Lastly: Do not pick card based on single category. Analyse overall spends, understand the impact of flexibility, milestone, annual fee and choose what best for you.

I loved the way you explained.
BTW I have mentioned all my family spends and I have 2 more people who are earing around 30k and 70k.

So your approach will be like spend more on few cards instead less spends on more cards

So this is my current portfolio , thinking to close icici mmt and convert rubyx dual to visa for simplicity , any other changes , suggestions welcome Screenshot 2024-10-11 at 10.59.17 AM.webp

My card list:
  1. HDFC DCBM (paid) - Primary card.
  2. Axis Atlas (paid) - Backup to DCBM.
  3. ICICI Emeralde (paid) - Will close before renewal.
  4. ICICI Sapphiro (LTF) - Alumni offer. Will keep it for ICICI offers.
  5. ICICI Amazon Pay (LTF).
  6. Axis ACE (paid) - Will close before renewal now that I got Atlas.
  7. SBI SimplyClick (paid) - For SBI card offers.
  8. HDFC Swiggy (LTF) - Got it as a back up cash back card. Will close it if I don't get limit enhancement on DCBM for 2 years.
  9. Canara Rupay Platinum (LTF) - For Canara bank offers and Rupay lounge access.
Cards I have already closed :
  1. ICICI MMT Visa Signature (LTF) - Most useless card I have owned.
  2. ICICI Coral Rupay (paid) - Not useful for me and was paid.
  3. HDFC Millennia - Closed it to apply for DCBM.
Cards I have planned / want to get in future :
  1. Amex Plat Travel - Best Amex card in my opinion. Cannot get it right now because pincode is not serviceable.
  2. IDFC Select / Wealth - For IDFC card offers.

Those are some of the best cards in the market!

Smaller list is better than a long list with crappy cards.
I myself have 12+ cards but use 3-4 of them for almost everything!
Thanks
Yes Exclusive is not used much. Just onc in a while to keep active as it's LTF and has good CL.
