I recently went to Mainland China Restaurant knowing that it has a 10x voucher on axis gift edge portal and 5% instant discount . While placing the order we confirmed with restaurant that we have a gift voucher of mainland china which we want to use (had not yet purchased anything else would have to order more or less based on my voucher and bill amount).
So after getting the bill in hand which came to Rs 3534 (including service charge 10%). I bought total three vouchers of 2000, 1000 and 500 =3500 (Yes multiple vouchers can be used) with my Axis Reserve card
He took a picture of all 3 vouchers from my phone and went to the billing to redeem them and finally came and said only Rs 34 has to be paid.
Normally on a busy Sunday night with 30 mins to one hour waiting restaurants sometimes are not too keen on using Eazydiner. Plus that has a capping of max 1000 off on HNI axis cards.
So final calculation comes to 3500-5%=3325 on this 3200 will get 240 regular edge rewards (@ 15ER/Rs200) and 9x bonus 2160, total 2400 edge rewards
2400 ER if converted to accor @ 5:4 = 1920 then 1920*1.8(accor 2000 points=40 euros)= Rs3456 value for a meal that i paid Rs3325+34= Rs 3359 and actual bill amount of 3534.
This is just how i value the points and my experience with using the 10x Axis Gyftr vouchers with reserve, a similar value will be achieved with magnus at 12/200 plus getting closer to the milestone!
There are many hidden gems still in the Axis gyftr portal which can be of tremendous value if used in the right way and for genuine spends.
