Aadhar Based Pin SetUp not available for Federal Bank via Bhim App

Hi,

I found on the NPCI website that Federal Bank is allowing their customers to set up pin via Aadhar Based OTP though my Federal Bank account is not showing this option in the BHIM app. Can anyone confirm whether Federal Bank has stopped providing this option?

Fyi, I called Federal Bank customer service, and they are telling UPI Pin set-up is not possible without having a debit card, though I have my debit card with them. Can anyone please confirm?

Even IndusInd bank isn't providing.

I just did it last week with Aadhar only.

In my case it worked in the first attempt, but when I was trying to set it up for my father it took 2-3 attempts, everytime it was saying wrong OTP.

By the way which app did you use when you were trying to set up the PIN?

Bhim. On Gpay/Paytm/Payzapp, there was no option for Aadhar. It was directly asking for debit card.

It is also asking debit card details. I've to wait for debit card delivery. Account is opened recently so aadhar might not have synchronised yet.

You are right that could be an issue.

Aadhar linking is different from Aadhaar seeding. You need to seed your Aadhar to the Fed bank account, then you can set the UPI PIN without debit card.

Linking, Seeding and god know what else going to pop up in the years to come.

Hopefully govt can introduce adhar auto pilot with cruise control and lane assist so that people can relax
