Add On Card Requirement

My father has a HDFC Biz Black credit card. I want to get an add on to this card but the bank representative is saying you need to have an account to get the card. I read the Terms and Conditions and no where it is written that Add on Card Holder needs to have an HDFC Account. Is this true?? Anyone has any idea??

If you have any existing hdfc card or account, you have a HDFC customer id and you can get an add on by just calling customer care.
Else you need to apply via a paper form

It will be a lot easier if you have an account (just by customer ID); otherwise, you have to do physical KYC.
