Devaluation airtel Axis Bank credit card devaluation w.e.f. 20th December 2024

So it means that whoever is getting the card from now on, and a new Airtel connection (dth, fiber, pre/postpaid) won't be eligible for 25% cashback?
Pretty big blow!

This might be the beginning of the end of Airtel Axis!
It wasn't that sustainable anyway, unless Airtel kept pumping money.
It was a good ride while it lasted....

What does payment for new connection mean here? The first time we get a connection or any payment made to any new connection after 20th December?
Any existing connections added in Airtel Thanks app will continue to fetch 25%.
If you get a new broadband/dth/etc connection and you add in the app (or gets auto added) after 20th Dec won't fetch 25%.

Good info New
The 25% cb will NOT be there on the initial expenditure of new connection (or the existing inactive ones which are made active now) - if such expenditure is on the hardware cost and other charges (like shifting, surrendering, safe keeping, transfers, hardware damage, replacement of cable, advance payments, deposit amounts, labour.....).

All these are getting CB till now.
No CB from now on.

Only the actual monthly RECHARGES and BILL PAYMENTS will get CB from now on. For all existing and EVEN NEW Accounts or EVEN REACTIVATED Accounts.

That's what I understood by reading it carefully.

Thank you very much for explaining sir. I hope that is the case.
At 2:30 am in the night, my brain was not braining what axis meant by that statement 😑

Ha ha ha...

At that odd hour, to comprehend such complex stuff, you need the brain of a 65 yrs old, techno-banker who got over 4 decades of experience in dealing with such stuff.

Do not blame your brain....
Thanks alot man I also got confused with the last point.

Actually I reposted your comment on reddit to my original post which has the same confusion regarding the last point of this mail from Axis Bank for Airtel Axis card new changes. I may have got your job experience wrong though.

Here is the link :

But doesn't the point mention 'bill payment' as well in the brackets. If I take a new WiFi connection postpaid, it will be a bill payment right? And I won't be getting CB if I take this connection after 20th Dec..?

Or reading more carefully, is it 'advance recharge and advance bill payment' which is excluded?

Doesn't seem to be in line with TnC.

However, payments (for hardware cost, installation charges, advance recharge or bill payment amount or any other amount) made for new or inactive connections will not be eligible for the cashback.

No cashback for new connections

For existing customers-Recharging of annual packs(advance payments) or custom amounts are valid for cashback.
For inactive/new customers-Apart from hardware cost etc, annual packs subscribed during activation is not valid for cashback.
Tip-Inactive customers should recharge from other payment modes to activate the connection and then after activation they are valid candidates for cashback if they recharge annual packs(advance payments). Same goes to new customers, once they buy the equipment and activates(mostly one month) it without using Axis card; further recharging annual packs via axis card is valid for cashback.

Are you sure ? In the last point it does say bill payment.

I hope it does allow otherwise it defeats the purpose of this card.

I'm more inclined to this logic, I'll drop a mail to customer care to confirm once
