Jio data was also leaked a while back. It’s sad these companies just don’t take data security as seriously as they should. Someone, somewhere is always able to beat them.

Good on Airtel to deny the breach akin to how nobody did anything/ take any land in East India.

As always, the average joe pays the price.
 
I was under the impression that the Aadhaar number was not supposed to be stored at all. How it is that Airtel is storing the Aadhaar number?
 
Me thinks they all do. Jio, too, exposed Aadhaar numbers just the way they’ve been exposed here with Airtel.

Government and every other company (mandated by government or otherwise) just wants all data but when it comes to privacy protection, jhola utha ke chal dete hain. Deplorable state of affairs.
