TF Folks,

Airtel has introduced Airtel IQ SpamShield - An AI / ML based platform to protect from Message Frauds.

Refer this screenshot, How Airtel is highlighting this. This is very very good tech mixed with AI by Airtel because as per Airtel stats more than 50% of the bank messages received are from Spam and bank fraud messages. This should help many users. Hope other might implement too.

Thanks for sharing... I did see this popup on a few calls here in bangalore but wasn't sure about the tech Airtel is leveraging..

Im assuming it is activated by default or do I need to enroll somewhere?

This is good on SMS cuz I can easily recognize the false positives. But for calls, it's a hit or miss. I have missed two important delivery calls and one imp bank call (ongoing escalation) because of that and there is no way to flag it or report it as false positive.

I think the model is flagging numbers with too many outgoing calls. And believe me airtel is not doing this to help customers, this is called 'blacklisting' business, they will allow whitelisting with money sooner or later.

Airtel has already F***ed its customers now they are looking to milk businesses.

Soon they might even charge customers who make a lot of outgoing calls. Remember scammers and spammers are one of the major customers of telecom companies. Airtel might be working on a way to make scammers look legit.

Do not get fooled by this.

Yes, AFAIK they airtel spam detect person how many times a person calling in day.
Airtel has specific limit for call for normal person.
If someone cross these call limit regularly they found it suspicious and mark as spam.
