Airtel vs Neo

srikant

TF Premier
I'm considering both these mainly for the Utility discounts.
1. Does using PayTM for utility payments need any KYC?
2. Neo gives 5% for utility payment via PayTM? What all does this include? I'll be using it for TN electricity payment, Airtel and BSNL SIM recharges, and ACT and Jio Fibre recharges.
3. Airtel gives 10% via Thanks, right? My Airtel SIM spend isn't much - I get the annual 24GB (?) pack since I'm almost always having Wifi.
4. Both of these come in RuPay, right?

Get both of them and you won't regret it.
You can definitely extract value out of your airtel axis even after paying fee
Axis neo is good for zomato offers only, you can get better cards with more than 5% return on utility payments through amazon pay vouchers

Airtel gives 25% discount for Airtel recharge via Thanks. 10% for bills in Thanks app, and Swiggy etc.
Neo is not comparable. Won't hurt to take it either , as it's LTF.
But better check the Axis Ace card and see if it fits your uses.

Are two Axis cards possible - how easy to get? How do the limits work for it?

I thought it was like HDFC, which is very restrictive, and has some weird things like one core and one co-branded card and all.

I have 808 CIBIL, but quite a few cards already ...

Is Airtel available on RuPay?

Two cards of the same are not possible. Just like playing cards.

But Axis can give you 3 cards easily.

If I do want apply Airtel and Neo, I should probably apply Airtel first to have a better chance?

But we also don't know how long Neo will be available LTF.

Anyway, once again, is Airtel available in RuPay?

No such sequence.
There is a small chance you may get rejected for Airtel card. But Neo is being distributed free to all.
Both are available in Rupay. But expect Axis to deny that it's available in Rupay.

Just get the Airtel one (and no, from what I read, it isn't available on Rupay at the moment). Neo is quite pointless. Neo would give you 5% upto 150 while Airtel is giving you 10% upto 250 in addition to 25% upto 250 on Airtel payments.

The 5% on utility for Neo is an upfront discount not a cashback like in Airtel CC but it has to be consumed in a single transaction whereas the Airtel cashback of 10% can be utilised on multiple payments till you reach your capping.

But please note that the Neo 5% discount is only applicable for prepaid recharge, broadband bill payment and DTH recharge, it is not applicable on electricity bill payment, postpaid mobile bill, Gas bill etc. since you mentioned your TN electricity bill payment.

Neo you will get LTF on Rupay, Airtel will be paid variant on either MasterCard or Visa as per availability.

I have both the cards. Both have their own utilities.

I use Axis Airtel for Bill Payments, Swiggy and Zomato orders for 10% Cashback and if I have ever exhausted Airtel cashback limit then I use Neo for the 5% cashback for recharges.

Also use Axis Neo on Blinkit mostly every month to get the 10% Cashback on Groceries

I applied Axis Neo through Cashkaro last year. Got Good Rs 1500 Cashback in form of Apay GV and Rs 300 cashback as welcome offer. Also, it's LTF. Can also be used for discount on online ecom websites. Gets you 10% off upto Rs 100 on Bookmyshow every month

After using it for few months got Axis Airtel Pre-approved in the Axis Mobile App. Got Rs 500 Cashback in form of Apay GV. So, in a way it's FYF. It is also useful in case of online discounts.

Plus both cards offer 15% upto Rs 500 off on EazyDiner applicable once per card per month. Occasional offers on EazyDiner also helpful.

Sometimes Swiggy Instamart also have discount offers for Axis Credit Cards. Either of them helps there.

So, all in all both cards have their own unique things, and using it wisely according to their features can yield you maximum benefit.

Till now been a happy user using both the cards.

Hope the above helps you.

Regards
