Hello everyone,
On December 24, I tried recharging my office WiFi for ₹6,543 through RuPay UPI, but the payment failed. Since the internet was critical for office operations, I attempted the recharge again. This time, the money was deducted, but there was no confirmation message, and the recharge didn’t reflect on the Airtel Thanks app.
I contacted the local Airtel Xtreme Fiber executives, who visited my office and attempted to recharge again using RuPay UPI and by entering credit card details (card number and CVV). However, all recharge attempts failed. They assured me that all failed payments would be refunded. ₹6,543 was debited five times across Axis Bank and Yes Bank credit cards.
The next day, I checked the Airtel WiFi account and saw that over ₹30,000 was added to the plan. I was devastated because my company will only reimburse ₹6,543 for a single recharge.
I immediately contacted Airtel customer care through calls, Twitter, and grievance emails. They asked for transaction details and a blank cheque, which I provided. However, they later denied the refund, stating that since the account is prepaid, no refunds could be issued.
I escalated the matter to the Territory Sales Manager in my area. He forwarded my issue to his senior, and after much effort, one recharge of ₹6,543 was reversed.
However, the remaining three refunds(6543×3 = 19629) are still pending, and Airtel has stopped responding to my queries.
I am seeking suggestions on how to escalate this matter further and secure the remaining refunds. If one payment was reversed then other 3 payments should be reversed also. Where should I complain now, and what is the process? Your guidance would be greatly appreciated.
