Introduction

The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) is set to launch RuPay credit cards with all major banks in the coming years. RuPay currently offers three main credit card variants:

1. RuPay Classic (Basic/Standard)
2. RuPay Platinum (Premium) // includes SwiggyOne, Spa, Gift Cards, and more.
3. RuPay Select (Super Premium)

There are also two sub-types under RuPay Select:

1. RuPay Select
2. RuPay Select Wellness (includes Gym, Spa, Golf programs, and more).

Key Features of RuPay Credit Cards

• International Acceptance: Supported by Discover Financial Services, Diners Club International, Pulse, and JCB.
• Free Benefits: Lounge access, wellness perks, and e-commerce offers.
• Bank Offers: RuPay cards are eligible for the same offers as Visa/Mastercard (e.g., 10% discounts on Amazon, Flipkart).

Is the BOB premier rupay card on Rupay Select platform? Don't see any information about it on BOB site or even on physical card.

Yes. BOB Premier card is RuPay JCB Select Credit card and BOB Easy Card is RuPay JCB Platinum Credit card.

Yes and I still didn't reveal the interesting part. After Convert your BOB Visa to RuPay. Your old BOB Visa premier credit card also worked simultaneously. 😂 😂

You can use both card for BOB Card offers on E-commerce websites etc, already verified by many users.

Note - Maybe it's a technical glitch from BOB side, I dnt know how long will it work but currently many BOB users used both Visa + RuPay card for all BOB card offers.

This means that if your Visa credit card is life time free then the same variant RuPay credit card will also be life time free or if you change your existing life time free Visa card to RuPay then your new RuPay variant card comes by default life time free.

2nd thing, Any offers given by banks are also applicable on your RuPay credit cards too like Axis, HDFC, ICICI, SBI CARD, BOB etc 10% discount offers on Amazon and Flipkart or other e-commerce websites (Ofcourse sometimes newly launch RuPay card is not eligible for e-commerce discount offers but that doesn't mean banks discrimination between Visa/mastercard vs RuPay. It simply meaning your card is new, bank systems are not updated, wait for few months or complaint to banks they will soon fix it. In fact, newly launch Yes bank Visa & RuPay both credit cards and few months back one person told Axis Magnus Visa Credit card is not working on e-com discount offers). So i hope it's clear. All bank offers are eligible on RuPay credit cards too.

You should know RuPay has 3 variants of credit cards -

This means that if your Visa credit card is life time free then the same variant RuPay credit card will also be life time free or if you change your existing life time free Visa card to RuPay then your new RuPay variant card comes by default life time free.

2nd thing, Any offers given by banks are also applicable on your RuPay credit cards too like Axis, HDFC, ICICI, SBI CARD, BOB etc 10% discount offers on Amazon and Flipkart or other e-commerce websites (Ofcourse sometimes newly launch RuPay card is not eligible for e-commerce discount offers but that doesn't mean banks discrimination between Visa/mastercard vs RuPay. It simply meaning your card is new, bank systems are not updated, wait for few months or complaint to banks they will soon fix it. In fact, newly launch Yes bank Visa & RuPay both credit cards and few months back one person told Axis Magnus Visa Credit card is not working on e-com discount offers). So i hope it's clear. AFAIK, govt banks still issue credit cards to bank account holders only. Self employed also applied through ITR.

If you already have bank account then some govt banks issue LTF RuPay Platinum credit cards without income proof.

Visit the branch (if you already have bank account) and ask them they are offering LTF RuPay Platinum credit card or not without income proof. If yes fill the credit card forum and done. You will receive your card after few weeks.

I already got LTF Union bank RuPay Platinum credit card from my Union bank branch. Same way some PNB users also applied and got LTF RuPay Platinum credit card.

PNB manager here had given me a form to apply via ITR and other standard income proofs but what they don't do is to have C2C applications (to the best of my knowledge)

But don't generally expect these banks to give high limits or anything fancy out of the blue

I have secured Canara CC and I don't see why anyone can't get it with ITR etc. What my Canara manager did tell me is that one usually can't expect very high limits on these cards

Rupay Platinum provides very exciting offers and discounts and getting it as LTF is an icing on the cake. It's difficult to get Rupay Platinum DC/CC from private banks.
