Amazon discontinued adding balance through cards

Recently Amazon had discontinued adding balance through CCs but we used to get through it via partner merchants like Uber. Now its totally discontinued. Does this mean the partner merchant offer for Amazon Pay ICICI card is of no use now?! If so, then its major cost cutting.

Even worse is they treat some debit cards like SBI RuPay JCB DC as credit card and banned that too from adding balance. 🙁

I really miss the 2% cashback on adding balance from APay ICICI CC.

I just added 100 Rs to check the same and it worked. I used Amazon pay icici credit card . Am i missing something ?

This is gift card balance not amazon pay balance. There are some transactions such as cc bill payments or upi bank transfers for example that you can not use gift card balance for.

yeah i got gift card and paid electricity bill yesterday but for fast-Tag it didn't let me use amazon balance and only UPI was available don't know why did amazon is stricting this

Gift card balance can be used to pay for anything which is linked to amazon pay even electricity bills/utilities

I think you can pay for swiggy and zomato using gift balance but havent used for a while. Elec bill, insurance payments i do every month. Very few transactions are prohibited due to obvious reasons. They don't want you to keep buying gift cards, earn rewards points and use same gift card to pat the cc bill.

GC is accepted in swiggy. But I've seen a significant decline in merchant partners of Apay such as Netmeds, Jiomart etc.
