Hi Fellow Mates,
Greetings,
I'm sorry if this question is asked before or if already been answered. I've tried to search through this community but haven't found any latest detailss regarding this.
My question is Prime day sale is coming soon and ICICI cards are eligible for 10% discounts. Earlier, I saw AMAZON card offering 5% when ICICI does 10% but have also heard on some places and youtube channels that it's not eligible on sales. Got mixed reviews.
I'm planning to buy an Ipad and wants to confirm if AMAZON ICICI card gives 5% on sales or does nothing at all as of now ?
Kindly, Please confirm as if it's not eligible I'll try to get hands on someone's ICICI or SBI card as soon as possible as sale is on 15th.

Thanks a lot and I'm sorry if this is already answered.
Thanks

On big sales like Prime day & Great Indian festival, Amazon provides 5% off plus 5% cashback offer (as usual) on Apay card. But its not 100% assured. You have to keep core ICICI card for sale offers.
Ohh Thanks. Actually, I don't have any other ICICI card. I was expecting it to give 5+5 as you mentioned but looking at your comment it seems like it might not be available. Add-on question. I'll still be eligible for 5% cb in anycase, right ? even if i can't get 5% discount

Yeah 5% cashback is card feature. You'll get it without any doubt.

Additionally, you can easily get ICICI Platinum LTF card by simply DMing 'ICICI Bank Cares' twitter account that you want another card on the basis of this card. Quote your Apay card last 4 digits with mobile no. Their executive will call you. Tell him to take upgrade request for ICICI Platinum card. After few days your card will get approved & delivered.

Actually, The sale is just 5 days away and I doubt they'll process that fast and there will be additional cibil enquiry, Right ? Also, I'm hearing the 10% discount is limited to 1500 only on prime sale. If that's the case ( I just came to know about it ) then it's of no use as my product gonna be 50K and 5% cb is mroe than discount in that case. Sorry for lot of questions

There won't be CIBIL hit. Many people have got their card upgrade this way for ICICI. You can apply and keep it for next sale. Its LTF anyways.

Yeah that's true. Discount is limited to certain amount whereas cashback on your Apay card is unlimited. For high value items (like iPad in your case), Apay card is beneficial.

Yes as Chaitanya said, in your case Apay card is a better option for the high value item assuming Apay is also providing 5 discount, which infact it does provide discount more often than not..
In this case, say your item costs ₹50,000.
Then
5% discount upto 1500 = 1500 +
5% Cashback on 50,000 = 2500
So a total ₹4,000 savings using Apay as against ₹1500 using a normal ICICI card...
Choice is pretty obvious in this case

"Upgrade request" meaning "in lieu of" the Apay card? Or do you actually mean "in addition to" it?

I was told by the branch as well as the credit cards support team that one needs to apply from scratch for an additional card! Does messaging the Twitter team allow one to bypass that? What if someone doesn't have a Twitter account?

When ICICI provides an upgraded CC based on an existing CC, it keeps the existing card still intact and will provide you a new approved card in addition to the previous one. Keeping the first CC active or closed is the option left for you to exercise..

In addition to it but merged limit as most of the banks.

Yeah we can bypass it if we're already their credit card customer. We can get all of their cards till Sapphiro via this method. If someone doesn't have Twitter account, just create one. Hardly takes 2 minutes.

However, it is still nice to have a LTF platinum card for a low value item upto ₹15 k as an additional card, since each card is valid only once during the entire sale period.

Normally structure of such sales (prime, Great Indian Sale) for APAY card is 5% instant discount (this will be restricted amount) and remaining 5% will be credited during billing cycle. They generally don't mention it with other cards, but you should see the flash somewhere or while purchasing the products and during the checkout, 5% amount (with max limit) is instantly reduced.

Yes, Ultimately APAY is winning over others. Thanks for the confirmation. I've decided to go with APAY card for the purchase
