Can we get an Amex MRCC credit card as a companion card if we hold an Amex gold card?

I have MRCC and wanted to do the same. I had asked couple of weeks back and they told it's not there as of now. You would have taken it on offer only, right?
Companion card offer is removed as of now, it may be added later as per Amex. You can take my referral and apply for MRCC , for FYF and discounted annual fees of 1500. I have heard amex does waive off fees later in case your holding a higher variant card.

This is incorrect. As per AMEX (And I spoke to them today), an Amex user can hold 2 Credit Cards and 2 Charge cards at the same time.
Yes you can hold them but need to pay annual pay separately this thread is about companion card where you don't need to pay annual fees for second lower variant as long as you are paying it on higher variant one.
