Amex Gold Upgrade to Platinum

I am looking to upgrade my AMEX Gold to Platinum Charge. Spoke to the Customer care and they refused it saying no offer available on my account.
Is there any other way? If I upgrade can I choose MR points instead of Taj vouchers?

I qualify for the conditions for the Plat Charge comfortably so that’s not an issue.
