There has been a lot of discussion regarding Amex Gold. However last year I believe this card was devalued. So the thing is. Is it still worth paying Rs 5310 for this card ? In my case I have decided to do 6 * Rs 1000 transactions which will include 2k for fuel. Also what is the worst value(%) I can acheive from this card with and without GYFTR.
Note - I have MRCC which I am planning to close if I get this.

Solely depends on your usage and requirements.

MRCC and Gold together are a good combo if you can fulfill 1500x4 and 1000x6 every month.

For fees, you will have to call them every year to get extra MRs or spend-based offers, etc.
So I usually use credit card for fuel worth 3k-4k. And rest 1-2k wallet load. Gyftr maybe 1-2k. So monthly is usually between 6k-7k. I tried doing the calculations but confused if I am able to get returns inspite of paying Rs 5310.

After paying 5310, you will be getting almost nothing.

But people generally get 10K points/any similar offer from Amex by calling customer care.

Amex gold makes sense only for first year that to if you apply via referal link .
Then the fees will be 1000+GST = 1180
and you will get 4k bonus points as per current offer
If you buy 6*1k Amazon voucher every month from amex gyftr 5x you get total 1600 MR points

For 1 year total points will be 1600*12+ 4k joining via refferal bonus points + 4k welcome gift points
= Total 27200 MR points in 1 year

Amount spent in first year = 72k + 1180 fees = 73180

WIth 24k Mr points you get min 8K Amazon voucher remaining you have 3200 MR points left with you can try to use to pay some amount of 2nd year fees

So min 8k return on 73180 spent i.e approx 11% return for first year

But
if you transfer these 27200 MR points to Marriott and assuming you get Rs 0.5 per MR point conversion while hotel booking then it's Rs 13600 as return
Which is 18.5% return of 73180 spent amt for first year

Does that make sense.. it's better than MRCC only for first year that too applied via referal ..
I have DM you my referal link use it if u like my detailed explanation
