Amex Mrcc FYF or chargeable?

I applied for mrcc card through referral. While applying it was shown as FYF but today received it and the enclosed Letter shows standard annual fees of 1000+ taxes for first year and 4500+ taxes from 2nd year onwards. Customer care is saying they can only confirm it is FYF or chargeable once 1st statement is generated. Should I activate the card or not?

If you have applied through referral, don't worry, go ahead and activate it. Same thing happened with me last year

Do not worry.
Whatever documentation they are sending is a generic one. Though they could have sent a specific one. Do not be in doubt at all.
After activation - you can have a chat with them as well.
But to proceed with the activation, we can vouch that we also got generic documentation.

How many days they took to complete the process ,after doing vkyc?

Activate it.
Login to app.
Then chat with CC for confirmation like I did for wife's card.

I did vkyc on Saturday and card was approved and dispatched on Tuesday.
