Amex MRCC in 2025: Need Clarifications

Hi everyone,

I have a few doubts about the Amex MRCC and would really appreciate if someone could clarify:

  1. Discounted Annual Fee on Referral:
Is the ₹1,500 discounted annual fee (instead of ₹4,500) still available through referrals? I am getting mixed answers from different sources, so it’s a bit confusing. Can someone please confirm?
  2. Fuel and EMI for ₹20K Milestone:
Do fuel and EMI payments count towards the ₹20,000 monthly milestone? I don’t care about earning rewards on them—just want to know if they’ll help me reach the milestone. I saw on the Amex website that post-purchase EMIs earn rewards, but there’s no clarity about the milestone.
I’m thinking of getting the MRCC mainly for fuel and EMI expenses and to take advantage of the monthly 2,000 reward points. Would love to hear your thoughts!

Thanks a lot! 😊

1. Discounted Fees of Rs. 1500 is discontinued now.
2. Fuel is considered. EMIs not considered, but the Full amount at the time of swipe will be considered.

Solution
The discounted fee has been discontinued but if you're spending 1.5L, it still gets waived off fully.
So, even if you spend 15K-20K every month, it shouldn't be an issue.

All spends are counted towards the milestone. 🙂

If you plan to apply, I've a bunch of helpful tricks and tricks on how to earn maximum rewards using MRCC, DM me if you would like to get it! 🙂

I applied MRCC this weekend and immediately got some limited approval after submission. I also did video KYC same day by clicking on the link in an email received from amex. But after that, I am yet to see any communication (email/sms) to even acknowledge the application. Is this usual in amex?

Yes. You'll know the status/request for income documents in a couple of days

It could take a few days for documents verification and the final approval.

Allow it some more time and you should have an update email in the next 3-4 days max! 🙂

Just received an email saying card is approved and it should reach in 3-7 days. No mention of any credit limit though. Thanks.

Awesome! Congrats on the approval.

Depending on your area, it would get delivered even fast, mine arrived in 2 days and some people here even got it the next day.
The credit limit will be mentioned in the welcome letter! 🙂
