Amex Rewards & Axis Edge to Hotels & Airlines

Axis gives similar 5:4 transfer to both Marriott and airline partners. While Amex has 1:1 transfer to Marriott but 1:0.5 for airline partners. Considering this to maximise the value of reward points does it make sense to transfer Amex only to Marriott and use Axis Edge for airline transfers? Any reason one should use Amex points to transfer to airline (assuming you also have Axis edge points)? Discussing normal transfers here and not with bonus offers.

Yes, I am also following the same strategy. AMex=Hotel, Axis=Air

Well I think for Marriott bonvoy ER can give even better value than Amex Rewards if we take ITC route

ER to ITC is 5:4
ITC to MB is 2:3

For 60k ITC green points in a year

For example
For 50k ER we can convert to 40k ITC green points and from ITC to Marriot bonvoy we can convert those 40k green points to 60k Marriot bonvoy Points which is event better than 1:1 in case of AMex

yes that’s true.. but we were discussing best way for airline transfer and not marriott transfer.. if we use both amex and axis for marriott transfers we won’t have points for air miles transfer..
