[Amex] What is the best way to convert MR points into Cash / Gold?

Posting on behalf of a family member who isn't on TF...

They have approx 130K Amex MR points and they don't plan to travel anywhere. What is the best way to convert them into Cash or Gold jewellery vouchers?
I am asking here because I don't feel qualified enough to recommend them on this particular topic...

There should be better ways I feel, maybe buying travel vouchers and selling?
But unsure which ones give maximum benefits...

last year i used in marriot properties , but just checked recently points per night are insane now, they were pretty reasonable last year

What is the conversion rate for Mariott?
Also does it depend on the Card variant?

They can try selling points by converting them to miles or loyalty points like MB.

Riight, I also think the same, then my follow up query is how much is the delta between buying GVs directly vs points and selling them?
Currently AFAIK, 1MR=25p... And that's a very bad conversion rate from my personal experience....

People are selling it for up to 50p in RML, depends if you can get a good deal. Usually you can get 40-45p easily. However you can only do that for 100k MB points in a year.

You can look conversion to miles as well, I am pretty sure it gets a similar rate.

Buying & selling GV's can be a headache, you get 25p and you obviously give some discount on that to make a good deal for the buyer so the overall return will be low.
