Anyone bought IOCL voucher using Credit Card? Did you get reward points?

Hi,

Using credit card at petrol pump is a hassle and there are so many hidden charges. Many times we end up paying 3-3.5% additional.

Recently I saw IOCL has their vouchers which can be used at petrol pumps. They give upfront discount of 0.75% and then add 0.75% if you are using credit card. So net-net nothing charged. Few questions from people if any one has used it

1. What happens to the balance amount?
2. What is the acceptance rate?
3. How much time does it take to redeem the voucher?
4. Most imp - Did you get reward points for this?

Also, are there any other ways to buy such vouchers? or any other voucher - BPCL or HPCL?

Yes, it works, you can redeem the voucher and also get points, but the 99.99999% pump staff will be clueless about the process. Also, they need specific machines to complete the entire process and most of them will confuse voucher redemption to reward redemption. Overall your pump visit will need min 15+ additional time even if all the machines are present. So stopped using it.

I tried buying a small amount of fuel voucher using IDFC wealth card to check (as it doesn’t going points for fuel), I didn’t receive any points it was counted as fuel only in transaction. So no point using my vistara Infinite as well.
