Hi,

I am trying to book a foreign airbnb. The airbnb website is showing everything in INR by default. Will I be charged 4% on this if I use atlas?

For Atlas , the Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) markup fee is 1.5% plus taxes for international transactions performed in Indian currency at an international location or with merchants located in India but registered in a foreign nation

Didn't get the 1.5% part. On the website it says 3.5%? Very noob to this. Can you please tell me when will I be charged 3.5 and when will it be 1.5?

so in simple terms.. if u pay in foreign currency like usd aed eur etc you will be charged 3.5% plus gst and if u pay to a foreign company in INR then DCC of 1.5% plus gst

While paying internationally,

in foreign currency -> attracts Foreign currency transaction fee.(3.5%+GST)

in INR -> attracts DCC. Dynamic Currency Conversion.(1.5%+GST)

Both get charged extra depending on the card you have. 🙂

I see. I just searched and found this reddit thread. Even in my case, the airbnb portal is forwarding to Razorpay and asking for PAN details. When you booked for Sri Lanka, did the same happen?
