I applied for AU ixigo credit card but they rejected after collecting all the information in the application. When I mailed them, they provided reason as high number of active cards. I came across following reddit thread:

where OP mentions that his card was rejected due to the same reason but when he questioned the bank, they approved it.

Those who faced similar issues and were later approved, please provide details here (if possible screenshots of email sent), that'll help in strengthening my case.

AU rejected my application twice and both times they gave the internal policy reason, i contacted RBI ombudsman and AU sent a reply to RBI ombudsman that my application was rejected due to high number of active cards
Then i got a call from them for closure of RBI complaint, i said you cant close the complaint because you did home as well as office verification for my card application and then rejected it and the reason you are giving is high number of active credit cards
You should not have done physical verification and rejected it just after cibil enquiry, i told them to remove the cibil enquiries as their process is faulty, now the RBI complaint is ongoing since the past two months and i get different emails from their side regarding the issue
I think this may be the reason that they have approved OP's card as they dont want another RBI complaint for the same reason(its just my assumption)

True. Also, if they have issue with high number of active credit cards, why do they not mention it in the application page itself. Anyways they are violating RBI guidelines, I will also raise RBI complaint against them, just gathering details of similar issues faced by other applicants.
Many banks such as IndusInd directly decline giving the reason of credit card rejection clearly violating RBI directions and others such as AU SF bank gives vague reason. These banks are just making mockery of regulations.
RBI should become very strict against such banks

They have not provided any reason, mark a mail to PNO, they will provide exact reason. If you find the reason is not specific, you can reach out to RBI Ombudsman

They have rejected mine for same reason going to raise RBIO complaint today

Maybe they have become strict with rejections and approvals now like many banks because I applied AU lit around 1.5 years back and I had more than 12 active credit cards at that point. I was approved even though my cibil was around 775 and I already had two cibil inquiries during that quarter. Honestly I think they are using more no of active users as an excuse to hide the real reason for rejection.
