Australian Bank ATM which does not charge ATM usage fee?

Hi All,

I am in Australia and used my Indusind Exclusive debit card to withdrawl cash from ATMx atm. It charged extra 5.2 AUD as atm operator fee and gave ridiculous conversion rate.

Can you all advise is there any bank atm remaining which gives good rate? I have used same card in UAE and no extra fee was charged and it gave a decent rate almost similar to xe.

Thank You

Any reason for cash? Everywhere accepts card there right?

And have you tried cash out option from Woolworth or coles? I guess that’ll not cost extra.

You should never withdraw from these atm only services. Use banks atm like nab etc. Also check for international banks atm like citi, they usually charge lower.

I don't know about that... will check today.. some of shops here are not taking international card.. and if I get good rates I will use card to withdraw cash and deposit in my bank account here..to avoid International money transfer charges and procedure.. I have to stay here for another 2 years

Ok, my experience was very limited.. stayed about a month twice in the last one year. Never had any problem in acceptance of Indian VISA card in shops there. Only last time SCAPIA was denied for a larger transaction > 2000 AUD and that was due to SCAPIA blocking it.

But from local guys, i understand cash-out from super markets is usually cheaper than taking from these ATMs.

Yeah I think maybe due to ATMX atm I was charged extra...today I will try NAB and Anz bank atm
Never ever use third party ATMs .. those ATMs sometimes charge for using even the local cards also..

Your order of preference to use Australian ATMs :
1) Comm Bank
2) West Pac
3) ANZ
4) NAB .. etc ... Try these ATMs if you had to use withdrawal facility... don't use third party ATMS in any shops, social clubs, etc...

Are you in Melbourne??
If you are, then as our friends suggested you can try in foreign bank ATMs , as they might offer better rates but as they are less in number.
The mainstream banks are the ones I mentioned above..
Best wishes

Okay, I saw queen st and assumed you were in Melbourne.
However upon close look at it , You are in Auburn, Sydney ..

Yes try for big banks first like I said..

Not sure, how long you have been living in Australia, but be extra cautious considering where you are living now…
All the best
