Axis Atlas Axis Atlas missing miles credit for lots of Forex Transactions (Platinum Tier)

Today I was checking my Miles Transaction history on Axis and realized that since almost a year (last April), I have not been given any miles for regular monthly payments I do for my servers/cloud hosting each month, to the tunes of $300 each month.
I pay using my Atlas card on 3 different providers, and one of the providers with around $150 monthly payment is missing, on the downloaded PDF transaction history (EdgeRewards web portal), last I see credit for those providers is in April 2024.
On the mobile app's rewards history, the transaction shows but with 0 Miles credit, it just doesn't show in transaction history on web portal.

Now I am worried beyond the fact just how many other transactions Axis might not have credit me the miles for, I already had been feeling that my miles had not been increasing as fast as they did last year, with almost similar spend pattern.

Has anyone else noticed similar, and what should my next course of action be ?

PS: Atlas was renewed in September 2024, and I am on Platinum tier (before and after renewal)

On that particular transaction it might be zero but in bulk they would have credited in later dates

But under what context or remark ? And that transaction(s) does not even appear in the PDF statement downloaded from edgerewards, almost 10-11 transactions (1L~) missing/not credited, last I see is on April 2024.

Have sent a initial support mail to Axis, so lets see.

Soo Axis Bank responded (kudos for clarifying within 24 hours), that the transactions are under MCC code 4816, which actually is "Computer network services, internet access, cyberlocker, file sharing and cloud storage" but Axis considers it as Utility and is excluded from their reward program (Utilities 4814, 4816, 4899, 4900)

This is unfortunate. But this is how most banks work nowadays. We need to make sure of the MCC all the time to avoid losing the rewards.

This is a good read:

Problem here is, the service provider Hetzner is using correct MCC code as they are a cloud computing provider, thus the 4816 which is for "Computer Services" but Axis has added that MCC code and a bunch more related to Computer/Cloud services in "Utility" category, maybe on purpose causing this problem.

Yes … that is MCC miscoding in the article.

Credit card rewards are essential for cardholders, and due to MCC miscoding, many cardholders don't receive the expected rewards they're eligible for.
What is your next step now? Will you use any other card?

Yeah just gonna shift this transaction either to my Amex or simply to my US company acc.
I have already reached milestone on our 2x Amex PT, so maybe will push this transaction to the MRCC to reach 20k monthly but these days don't feel the urge to track gold/mrcc milestones as much, MRCC still but not gold.

If Amex had decent transfer partners or better transfer ratio, I might have gotten the Platinum Charge but so far not beneficial enough for me.
I wish I could have gotten the US Amex card in time though while the previous method(s) were working, okay with paying some forex charge as miles are more useful to me.

This has given me a bit of a challenge though (as a programmer) to try and create a tool to match my card statement against my rewards statement and catch which transactions were not rewarded 😏

You can also look at this option for Forex spends.
