Axis Atlas Axis Atlas renewal issue!! Please help

Dear friends

My card Atlas has expiry date in Jan and statement date as 17th Jan. I was under the expression that I will be charged for renewal post 17th, but unfortunately they charged Annual fee already on 10th Jan (With no sms) and same day I had recurring netflix transaction. No further transactions post that because I am mostly using Infinia. I tried calling escalation Desk and they are not willing to reverse the fee or offer any miles. Do I have a way to get this renewal fee reversed?

Atlas is their bestseller. They won't reverse it's fee.

It's always recommend to cancel card 1 month before renewal.

Most u can get is some retention miles benefits of u ask for closing

not possible, once a transaction is made after the renewal fee is added you cannot get a reversal or close the card.
if there is no transaction after the renewal fee is added you can get connected to the senior desk (retention desk) and get the card closed and renewal will be waived off and the card closed.

I found a sms where my axis card was dispatched on 13th Jan and activated on 17th Jan . This means their claim of renewal date is just flake.

You should ideally file a card closure request one month before the actual renewal date so you have time to negotiate if required. I also recall Axis posting card renewal fees a week before actual anniversary but in my case I had extracted 10x annual fees and hence I decided to keep it.
