Hi,

Got an update that cleartrip and Axis has tied up. For high end cards liek Magnus, zero fee. cancellation, 1200 discount, upto 500 free meals and more . Looks lucrative.

Regards,
Sachin
Finally some sense has come to Axis management or rather I should say Citi management!!😑😑

Might be. But free cancellation and no convenience charge along with free food itself is a big gain.
It is good for small value flights where convinience fee is large compared to 15-20% discount.

But otherwise, I never opt for free cancellation/meal plans explicitly unless it is like 100-200 rs different (sometimes indigo flexi fare offer that). Now a days with flight fare around 7K for 2-2.5 hr flight, 15% of that will be 1050. And after reducing convinience fee of 300, it is like paying 750 for free cancellation, seat and meal, which I never prefer.

But it also helps when thetre are 3-4 pasengers on same ticket. Max discount is limited but convenience fee is added for each passenger. Also 500 for food is for each person, not each ticket.

Yeah, it will fit for those cases. I normally travel with just 1-2 people and book split tickets, if needed to get maximum discount. Food is anyway free in lounges.

I did some calculations for cancellation. In general, If somebody has cancellation rate of around 20%, then also it is good for him. I don't cancel even 10% of flights.

Yes true. Scheme most helpfull for those:

1. Cancellation frate high.
2. More passenger per ticket
3. No lounge access

Finally booked a flight using Axis offer. Was getting the same fare on Skyscanner as well. So, it is a no risk option as it is fully cancellable. Also, free seat and meal makes sense in case of Indigo.

Was booking on cleartrip better rewarding than on traveledge?
The same fare was around 4800 on Traveledge. I got it for around 4200 on Cleartrip. I would have got a better return if I had bought directly from Indigo app compared to Traveledge. The flexi fare on app was cheaper than standard fare on Traveledge. So, booked one side using Cleartrip. Booked the return using app. Got free meal and seat in case of both. Atlas will give bonus points for that.
